Fulham professional couple
Client profile
My clients are a professional couple with busy social lives. They eat out often but also like to occasionally entertain family and friends at home.
They wanted a simple elegant design but fundamentally disagreed over the style, she like sleek modern and clean he likes natural wood and a more shaker style.
Design brief
The kitchen had to have a large island which was simple and stylish as well as practical and multipurpose.
They liked both simple uncluttered lines as well as classic painted shaker finishes which made them feel confused over the style to choose. They were particularly keen for the space to feel open and airy.
They don't want a cluttered room and want a space that's easy to keep clean and tidy,they particularly wanted a range cooker and a shelved larder unit.
Statement of intent
I blended a modern Matt finish with push to open doors and drawers along with a simple un fussy shaker door for the units.
The quartz worktops was punctuated with oiled oak block.
To appease the clients different tastes I used a bespoke glass splash back with a traditional brick effect imprint.
To maintain simplicity no wall units were included in the scheme.
I used a large double door traditional shelved larder and modern sleek drawer units to achieve the eclectic mix of the clients different preferences.
Zoning and storage were important parts of this design and my guiding mantra became a place for everything and everything in its place.
